Equity researchers analyze stocks to help portfolio managers make better-informed investment decisions. They employ problem-solving skills, data interpretation, and various other tools to understand and predict a given security’s behavioral outlook. This process often involves quantitatively analyzing a stock’s statistical data as well as qualitatively examining recent market activity.

Our mission is two-fold:

(1) To train and educate associates on equity research techniques and the basics of financial modeling in preparation for professional opportunities in finance.

(2) To publish an issue with our combined findings at the end of each semester.

Since our inception Cornell Equity Research has placed diversity, equity, and inclusion at the core. We believe analysis on equities are bolstered by garnering the diverse backgrounds and identities present in our organization. CER aims to foster an inclusive environment by being transparent with our members. We aim to impact the practices of other businesses organization on campus through collaboration, which include our annual Spring panel.
